Advbeca Ltd, a boutique consulting firm specialized in executing complex transactions, acted as financial advisor for Cantine Ermes in coordinating a six-million-euro investment operation and in structuring the financing subscribed by Banco BPM. The story of Cantine Ermes Società Cooperativa Agricola began in Sicily, in the Belìce Valley, in July 1998. In Santa Ninfa and Gibellina, towns heavily affected by the 1968 earthquake, nine brave winemakers decided to join forces, sharing a dream: an innovative, dynamic winery with a global vision. Today, nearly 25 years after its establishment, Cantine Ermes has 2,513 members and 13,646 hectares of vineyards across four significant Italian wine regions: Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo, and Veneto. These 2,513 winemakers believe in the skills, experience, and sense of responsibility of Cantine Ermes and have chosen to be part of this great cooperative over time. The investment is used to increase the Prosecco storage capacity, expanding the number of wine vats to double the current capacity. Cantine Ermes is now Italy’s leading first-tier wine cooperative in terms of cultivated hectares and is well established in Sicily, Veneto, and Puglia. Recently, the adventure in Abruzzo has begun, where a merger path with the Valle di Sangro Social Winery of Atessa (Chieti) is underway and is expected to be completed by next year.
The operation was performed by Leonardo Leoncini and Alessandro Scala.
